Safe, super clean, safe, and quiet. A great hotel we found entirely by chance. This was in 2009, so things might have changed since then. We stopped here on our way from Tijuana to Guadalajara by bus, after leaving America abruptly. When we realised we were less than half way through what was going to be over 30 hours on the bus we got off in Obregón. Pure chance, as was finding the Linda Hotel. I feel very fortunate for having done so given some of the dives I have stayed in before in other countries and Mexico. My wife does not speak Spanish. I thought that being asked whether I wanted to rent the room by the hour or the day was a good sign. It meant that the local police would be paid off and that no petty crime would be tolerated. There was the occasional very hard faced woman whistling up to the night watchman for keys around midnight every night. And then the sounds of drunken laughter and stumbling as she and her cabellero made their way to their room. But that did not bother me at all, nor my wife after I had told her about the room rates. It made us feel safe, no crime or theft was going to be tolerated because the last thing they would have wanted was police attention. It was quiet, very, very clean, reasonably priced, and very safe. And that was exactly what we wanted right then.
